The influence of high pressure will continue to shape our weather well beyond the end of this month. However, over the coming days we will move into a position on the periphery of the high-pressure system, meaning our weather will become somewhat more varied and temperatures will drop significantly for a while. On Saturday, however, we will still be close to the centre of the high, so patches of morning high-altitude fog may once again lift well above the lower-lying valleys. In the mountains, on the other hand, it will remain sunny from morning to night. This will change by Sunday, as stronger north-easterly to easterly winds bring more compact patches of high fog, meaning that even light precipitation cannot be entirely ruled out for a short time. With temperatures dropping significantly, the snow line will be at 1,000 metres. During the first half of next week, high-altitude fog will remain an issue, but it will increasingly retreat to the valley areas. In the mountains in particular, it will already be predominantly sunny again. For the time being, however, the early-winter chill will remain unchanged.
