The so-called “sheep cold” is making itself felt. This weather phenomenon, typical of early summer, owes its name to the fact that the annual sheep shearing takes place during this time of year. During the “sheep cold,” very cool to cold sea air is drawn into Central Europe. On Thursday, however, the weather will gradually settle down and improve. The clouds will certainly thin out, making way for the sun at least at times. With showers, snow is still possible at elevations below 2,000 meters above sea level. We’ll be under the influence of a northwesterly flow with partly cloudy air masses on Friday and Saturday. A high-pressure system over Western Europe won’t be able to fully assert itself. Temperatures will rise. Only Sunday will bring plenty of sunshine and significantly warmer air. As for how things will develop next week, there’s still some uncertainty.
